Our weblog has moved !!

Today I migrated our weblog to our homepage. Using the "Modified Blogger Importing Tool" by Andy Skelton proved rather easy, except I had to search where the files got uploaded on my server.

So for updates on Caipirinha, Tuips and Shanghainese click here!!

No electricity (3)

It is getting boring. Sunday evening again a power surge. This time only one hour. Again they manage to make this happen when you want to eat. I wonder whether the management comapny actually payed the bills.
I should start thinking about moving to another apartment, because the real power issues are still to come... To be continued.

Argentina - Brazil (3-1)

Yesterday, Argentina beat Brazil in the worldcup qualifications. Claudia was very upset. She is afraid she bought her brazilian outfit to no avail. The Argentinians managed again to offer 'polluted' water to the Brazilian players. Apparently they didn't learn from previous incidents. If Brazil does not qualify, I will have to watch all the games alone.

No electricity (2)

Tuesday. Three days later. We just finished hanging some paintings. We started preparing dinner and...... indeed the second power surge. So far for a hot meal. We had tossed salad in a very romantic atmosphere. The candle lights.
It took 1,5 hour for the electricity to be back up.

No Electricity

Saturday we experienced a power cut. Now this is supposedly common when you live in Shanghai and the temoeratures reach 39,5 degrees Celcius (officially the temperature never hits 40 degrees Celcius, as that means reduced working ours for government officals).
It was different in this that it was only June, so not too hot, and it happened only to our building. It was a strange moment, waking up going to the fridge to get some juice and find that the light in the fridge is off. Then you notice the temperature inside the fridge is already at 12 degrees. A quick check learned that there was no electricity at all. HELP !! What to do? In this modern age about everything runs on electricity and you do not really realize that.
The only good thing is that the elevators continue to work, which saves us 16 flights of stairs.
